Academics
Academic
Excellence
At First
Assembly Christian School, we believe that all children are gifted by God to
use their talents for His service.
High academic standards facilitated by professional Christian educators
challenge students to reach their full potential. FACS is accredited by two outside organizations – ACSI www.acsi.org
and SACS www.sacscasi.org. Second
through 8th grade students are administered the Stanford Achievement
Test (SAT 10th ed) each Spring.
School
Success
Middle
School students take the NC End of Course Exam for Algebra, Biology and Spanish
I and transition into Honors and Seminar classes in high school. Our students
develop a strong foundation of academic skills built on a Christian world view
and are well prepared to step into leadership roles and excel in their high
school experience.
Curriculum
Overview
First Assembly Christian School uses a combination of Christian and
secular educational curriculum and publishers to provide a diverse educational
experience. We believe successful
students should approach life from a balanced perspective; therefore, education
at FACS incorporates the discipline and high standards of a traditional
classroom with a more creative “hands on” approach. We believe that children learn best by “doing” and therefore
provide numerous opportunities (both in and out of the classroom) for our
students to experience and apply the knowledge they are acquiring.
In addition
to core classes like bible, math, language arts, science, and social studies,
students also participate in music, art, media/technology, Spanish, and
physical education classes with specialty teachers throughout the week.
